The mural (6 × 3 m) shows the perspective view of a facade of a typical Viennese apartment building. The centuries-old sgraffito method thematically combines the technique with the subject. It digs into the wall of the house and thus approaches the hidden network of pipelines that make the city a living organism. The dimension of the motif fits into the street view. As with a tilted picture, the viewers can decide which perspective they take. By shifting the perception modes from the actual street view to the image – the one appears as a simulacrum of the other. Only a slight change in perspective creates distance and makes the city reflectable as a stage of public life. The audience moves through the installation and thus becomes part of the staging and vice versa. There is a synergy between the scenery, the performer and the audience of the urban drama.
